Standards & Industry Innovations

InfoComm standards and industry innovations give your company a major business edge. By adopting InfoComm's ANSI standards, you can design and document high quality AV systems that have consistent, measurable performance.

InfoComm’s Industry Innovations task forces are led by industry experts to identify and explore complex subjects that impact the future of the professional AV industry. The collaborative, consensus-building nature of these teams can plant the seeds for potential standards.

InfoComm's Integrated Building Technologies task force and its partners took on the challenge of creating better buildings. Some of goals for the task force were to identify key opportunities and potential roles for the AV industry. Read about their progress.

First InfoComm Standards and Best Practices Plenary Session Held at InfoComm 2011.

The first Standards and Best Practices Plenary Session was held on June 18 in Orlando, and included reports from chairs and moderators of Task Groups and Task Forces, liaisons to other associations, and InfoComm staff.  Participants were informed  as to how current Standards and Best Practices issues tie together and relate to other industries.  Over 15 liaisons from InfoComm to other trade associations presented and participated in lively panel discussions that spanned the breadth of InfoComm projects.  These included Green AV, audio, energy management, displays, drawing symbols, BIM, event sustainability, integrated building technology, and others.  Extensive audience participation was encouraged.  Find out more about the Standards and Best Practices Liaisons Program.
