BOSTON -- InfoComm International hosted its fourth Regional Roundtable program of 2008 on April 16 in Boston. Nineteen members from Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire were on hand for this increasingly popular member event.
The program featured a keynote address on Intellectual Property in the AV Industry given by Dean Pelletier of McAndrews, Held and Malloy, who is a member of both the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Intellectual Property Owners Association.
Following the keynote, Mike Guillory from DLP Products, a co-sponser of this event, gave a short presentation on the products that DLP has to offer as well as products consumers can look forward to in the future.
Lastly, attendees had the opportunity to discuss current issues facing them in the industry, not limited to the need for vigorous staff development to secure individuals well versed in technical writing. Marketing outreach, workforce development, green energy, and the need for gathering data on labor rates and job costing were also important topics of discussion. While many of these issues can be resolved through the implementation of several InfoComm membership and educational programs already offered, InfoComm staff took note of unaddressed membership needs for future initiatives.
This event was sponsored by Liberty Wire and Cable and DLP Products. A full schedule of InfoComm regional events is available in our Calendar of Courses & Events. InfoComm Regional Roundtables are free to participants.
