Renewal Deadline Surprise: You May Still Have Time
You may have more time than you think to renew your certification if you passed the exam before it was being given at the testing centers. As part of the transitional period, anyone who got his or her general CTS under the former system (that is, passed the test at InfoComm Academy or online instead of at a Prometric Testing Center) has 12 months after his or her expiration to renew. Please check your expiration date! An easy way is to look yourself up in the search on our website (top right corner of every page and linked for you here. You worked too hard to let your important designation lapse.
Moving forward, anyone certified or re-certified under the current system may request a maximum four-month renewal extension.
2010 is the Biggest Renewal Year Ever
Did you get your certification in 2007? If so, 2010 is your year to renew. InfoComm sends you five email reminders and a postcard to help you to remember, but it’s up to you to get that application submitted. You probably already have your 30 RUs — check your transcript; complete the form and send in your $100, which covers three years. Need more free RUs? Check out the Wednesday Webinar series — free, and you never leave your desk!
