InfoComm Show Update: How Do I Get My Certification?
What a difference a year makes. Last year was all about the WHAT — what changes resulted from ANSI/ISO/IEC accreditation. This year was all about the HOW — how do I get certified?
For the thousands of you who earned RUs at the Show, please be patient — these courses will appear on your CTS transcript in 8-12 weeks. And remember, ONLY courses registered through InfoComm appear on your transcript. Save your certificates from other courses to include with your renewal application every three years.
New CTS Poster Available
New posters will be mailed to the primary contact at your company in the next few weeks. The poster was updated to include the accreditation of the CTS-D by ANSI/ISO/IEC and the weighting of the domains/tasks for the CTS-D. If you don’t receive one, contact certification@infocomm.org.
NEW! Project Management for AV Online Course
Earn 10 RUs — Register Now
If you’re one of the lucky 1,000 people who’ve taken Brad Malone’s Project Management for AV three-day course, you know what great content and instruction can do to help you with your job.
Can’t get to a class? No problem! InfoComm has a new online course with much of the theory behind project management. The course’s refreshing format is made up of videos of Brad, some brief, some as long as 30 minutes, along with great Q & A to help you focus. Watch a video of Brad talking about AV project management. Pull out those EduBucks and visit our website for more information.
Ease That Exam Anxiety
InfoComm is pleased to announce that the pass rate for the CTS exam is between 70 and 75 percent. The pass rate for the CTS-I is 79 percent.
Now is the time to put your study plan in place to step up to your next exam. Why do we think the pass rate for the CTS-I is a bit higher? The eligibility requirements (you must already be a CTS, have two years of experience and obtain sign off on certain skills) help people self-assess more effectively, and make candidates better-prepared for the exam.
Start studying for the specialized exams. If you’re already a CTS-D or a CTS-I, mentor someone else who is thinking about stepping up.
