Denver
Ed Logsdon with D. L. Adams Associates, Inc. will be presenting “Technology in the Boardroom” at the Rocky Mountain Audio Video Expo in Denver, CO on October 20, 2011. The presentation will identify the various design elements to consider, including aesthetics, lighting, room acoustics, network bandwidth, Wifi, etc., to successfully integrate technology into boardrooms.  The audience will be architects, owners, facilities personnel and IT staff.  More information can be found on the website.

rp Visual Solutions is hosting an open house to tour their new 10,000 Sq. Ft. Anaheim Facility and get hands-on with their myriad of Visual Display Mounts. Complete details can be found on the invite.

Projector Lamp Services is holding a Relampit Recycling Raffle. Participants are encourged to recyle used projector lamps and will have a chance to win a new projector. Complete details can be found on their website.

Beaverton
Biamp is hosting an Open House on Thursday, October 20th, inviting local businesses and students and staff from various universities in the area.  On Friday, October 21st, Biamp will once again host Engineering students from University of Portland for a tour of and presentations about their facility and company. Biamp obtained an AV Week Proclamation from the Mayor of the City of Beaverton, Denny Doyle.

Pennsylvania

New Wilmington
Westminster College once again celebrates AV Week with a multitude of events. The Titan Terror II Showcase calls for amateur videographers to submit their spookiest digital movie for a chance to win prizes. The university is also hosting its 12th Annual "Gently Used" Equipment Hand-Off Drive, 5th Bi-Annual E-Recycling Drive and much more. Visit their website for a complete listing of events.

Metropolitan Acoustics Celebrates AV Week with a seminar & AV exposition at the Center for Architecture in Philadelphia on October 26. The event is open to architects, MEP engineers, related professionals, and anyone with related interests. Complete information can be found on their website. Pennsylvania Convention Center is celebrating AV Week by sending out email blasts daily with AV tips and visiting a local school to showcase AV technology.

Utah

Salt Lake City
Listen is once again participating in AV Week week with activities scheduled the entire week. The Listen Trek team is participating in Salt Lake City's Walk4Hearing to raise awareness and money for hearing loss. Please visit the Walk4Hearing website to register or donate. InfoComm is celebrating AV Week with events throughout the week. Participate all week long with our AV Week Website Scavenger Hunt. At our headquarters, we start off celebrating with our 3rd Annual InfoBake contest and e-recycle drive.  We will also be on the road in San Diego celebrating with a Member Roundtable and end-user AV Technoogy Today conference.  For more information on any of our events, contact avweek@infocomm.org.

2010 Calendar


  • Emerson College
    Emerson College is hosting Emerson AV Week Celebration in conjunction with the School of Theatre Design. There will be a Live Mix Workshop focusing on microphone selection and placement in theatres demonstration.  The event is free and open to all students.   • Crestron
    In celebration of AV Week, Crestron has invited local technical high school and college classes to tour their Rockleigh, NJ campus to see, hear and touch, firsthand, the latest technology in a fully functional home theater, teleconferencing room and interactive design lab inside their amazing 9,000 sq ft experience center.  In addition, the Crestron Human Resources Department will be on hand to discuss career opportunities and accept resumes.  Engineering and technical seniors from high school and college should submit a brief description of the school class size to attend and main contact information to: Tracy Cook at tcook@Crestron.com or at +1.201.767.3400 ext. 10227.


  • Population Council
    Population Council will be hosting an AV Expo in their offices showcasing all of the AV services they provide.  The expo will be set up in a convention atmosphere with four booths.  Visitors will rotate between each of the booths with content focusing on audio, presentations, videoconferencing and video recording/editing.


  • Columbus State Community College
    As part of AV Week, Columbus State Community College will be covering the evolution of video games and the gaming industry.  Students will get hands on experience with popular games from all periods, while learning fun facts and trivia about development and video game history.

    11th annual Connectivity Conference - This conference is free and open to all integrators. The event will take place in Dayton, OH, Oct. 21st and 22nd at the Dayton Marriott.

    Structured Wiring for the Classroom - In addition, Cables toGo will be hosting an online webinar.  The webinar will take place Monday, Oct. 18th 1:00pm EST.  Any Certified Technology Specialists, integrators dealing in AV applications, or individuals interested in learning more about AV should register for this webinar.

  • Westminster College 
    As a part of AV Week, Westminster College is hosting multiple events throughout the week.

    "Titan Terror Project" Showcase - The project, chosen with the proximity to Halloween, emphasizes the use of audiovisual equipment for school purposes, a main asset for the campus. The Titan Terror Project, a mini-movie showcase, invites students and faculty to submit suspenseful, non gruesome, short films made with consumer-level cameras.  The prize initiative has drawn many in for the October 20th showcase and competition.  Please visit their website for more information.  Wednesday, October 20th, 12:00 p.m.

    Document Camera Showcase - The AV department will be extending their services and knowledge to the surrounding school districts through a Document Camera Showcase.  Teachers from area schools will be invited to the Westminster campus to view various types of document cameras and receive training on how to use them effectively in the classroom.  Contact Andrew Borts at borstar@westminster.edu or at 724-946-7188 for more information. 

    E-Recycling Drive - Westminster College will be holding a technology recycling drive for the entire campus and surrounding community. Many items such as computers, tapes and microwaves will be disposed in an eco-friendly manner.
