Philadelphia, PA -- Milanese Assoc., Inc. / Video Visions, Inc. is saddened to announce the death of Arthur A. Milanese, President, on Saturday March 21, 2009 from complications following heart surgery. He was 66 years old.
Milanese was an InfoComm member since 1976, when it was known as NAVA (National Audio Visual Association). Business associates often referred to Arthur as a “pioneer” and a “maverick” in the industry. He understood the rapidly changing technology and how it was likely to fundamentally change the AV business. “He was known for his loyalty,” said Joe McConahy, Regional Sales Manager for Video Visions, Inc. “It is hard to find someone in any industry that worked as long as Art did and never had anyone say a bad word about them. He was one of those special people, and he believed that relationships come first, then business.”
Milanese began his independent career in Philadelphia, PA in 1973, when he established Milanese Associates, Inc. to market, sell and distribute professional media products for commercial applications. In 1986, Milanese Associates Inc., under Arthur’s leadership, pioneered the application of video wall technologies, bringing the first video wall splitters and displays to America. Five years later, Video Visions, Inc. was formed specifically to design and manufacture quality video wall products in the United States. Today Video Visions, Inc. is still headquarted in Philadelphia, PA with offices in New York and Florida, specializing in large screen display integration, sales and installations.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Janet Muller Milanese, of Philadelphia, PA, three daughters Theresa Toth of Burke, VA, Mary Ellen Milanese-DiStasio and Ann Marie Milanese, both of Philadelphia, PA and four grandchildren, Erin, Daniel, Sara and Hannah.
“The entire AV industry is diminished by the loss of Arthur Milanese,” said Randal A. Lemke, Executive Director, InfoComm International. “His reputation for innovation and vision is his legacy, and he will be remembered fondly by the InfoComm membership.”
Funeral services were held on March 28th.
